Living the Life in Northern Virginia

A Big Fall Welcome

shep

A new school year has started which means fall is right around the corner! I love this time of year – rustling leaves, fresh, crisp air, sweaters, boots, pumpkin spice latte’s galore and Saturday’s lounging around the house being snuggly. How could anyone not love such a splendid season? If we ever moved away from Northern Virginia, I’d have to take a serious look at the weather. I definitely require all 4 seasons (winter, not quite as much) and am happy to be living in a place that really does get the full range. Our summer was perfect – not too humid and nice and sunny. It will hold on for a little while but I will welcome fall back with open arms!

So what’s in store for fall? Here are some items on my wants/to-do list:

  • Parents Visit / 5K Run in Clarendon
  • Culpepper Farm Days (To visit Alpacas!!)
  • NYC
  • Bachelorette Party for Brittany
  • Halloween!!! (No plans actually)
  • 2nd Annual Venison Tasting Party
  • Hike/Stay in the Shenandoah Park
  • Thanksgiving Turkey Trot 5K (maybe?)
  • Dine at a place with a cozy fireplace

Goals from now till end of year:

  • Run baby run! Let’s try for 6 miles by year end
  • Start cooking again on the week-ends
  • Keep up the blogging!
  • Win the *Little Black Dress* contest I entered
  • Figure out a way to make a little extra dough to cover my upcoming extra expenses
  • Check off another restaurant on my ‘want to try’ list

Alright – here’s to making it happen! Happy Fall everyone!
